For the past 4 months Vee Design has been working closely with Ipswich City Council Project Control Group and the projects lead contractors JMAC Constructions on the Ipswich River Heart Stage 2 Project. This $7M project has been designed to provide the community of Ipswich with a variety of recreational uses; encompassing a 4m high story wall with viewing lawn, a boardwalk link connecting to the new regional wet and dry playground, and a childrens discovery play forest. Earth works got off to a delayed start with the anticipated subtropical wet season we are having, however, we broke ground earlier this month with construction of the gateway story wall well under way.

Vee Design is proud to announce the opening of their new office on the Sunshine Coast, led by Trish Menzies. Trish is a landscape architect with 19 years experience, and a resident on the coast for the past 5 years. David and Trish are excited to be able to expand the services Vee Design can offer to all our valued clients with the ability to also provide landscape architecture and urban design for the Sunshine Coast and other regional centers in Queensland. Along with Jmac Constructions & Ipswich City Council, Vee Design competed in the recent Toowong corporate rowing regatta. Well done team for finishing 3rd in the overall rankings.

Vee Design was awarded the UDIA Wild Card Award for Robelle Domain Springfield Central Parklands. The Wild Card Award category is an award that doesn't meet the specific criteria of other award categories but is awarded to an outstanding project that significantly contributed to the industry and the community.

The playground at Robelle Domain Parklands achieves top honours at the prestigious Australian International Design Awards in Melbourne. In addition to the overall award, the playground also won the design award in the Sport & Leisure category.

David Hatherly & Lauren Walsh have been elected as part of the AILA Qld Executive Committee. David has been appointed Qld Vice President and Lauren Qld Secretary.

Vee Design wins the 2011 Qld AILA Design Award in Landscape Architecture for the Robelle Domain Parklands at Springfield. Competing against 34 other entries, the award is an excellent achievement for Vee Design.

Vee Design wins an International Design competition for the Chengdu Floral Gardens Project. A new 60 hectare parklands incorporating floral displays, themed attractions & integrated water course in the new district of Chengdu, PRC.

Vee International has Launched in China. Les Wood (Director at Vee design) is in regular contact with staff at Vee international as they begin work on some exciting projects throughout Asia.
